Life size grizzly bear sculpture
After extensive research on bear sizes and proportions, I created this piece, which I've named "Gus."
He's crafted from 16-gauge steel, with each part meticulously plasma-cut by hand to give it an organic feel. I shaped each piece by hand and welded them together to form the grizzly's body.
Using my torch, I sculpted every toenail and added eyebrows to give him character. To complete the look, I used a rusting technique on the steel to give him a weathered, natural finish that adds texture and depth.
