Montana’s wild beauty is the heartbeat of my work. Surrounded by mountains, forests, wildflowers, and wildlife, I sculpt with fire to reflect the soul of nature in metal and glass. Each piece tells a story—rooted in wonder, shaped by the land, and crafted to spark connection.
Follow along to explore the magic of Montana through flame-forged art.
In 2012, I was hired to work on a natural gas pipeline in North Dakota. During breaks and after hours, I practiced welding—not out of necessity, but because I was drawn to it. I fell in love with how the molten puddle moved, how heated steel shimmered with color. I saw rose petals in the curve of a pipe and sparks that felt like magic, even in a North Dakota winter.
When I returned to Montana, I began creating with what I had—nuts, bolts, and a growing stash of rusted metal. It was rough, but it taught me to see potential in everything. I sold a few spark plug scorpions, and slowly, my confidence grew. Then I built Rust Chick, a life-sized scrap metal sculpture that won a local contest. She wasn’t just a piece of art—she was a reflection of my story, strength, and resilience.
Through years of trial, failure, and self-teaching, I’ve grown not only as an artist, but as a person. Each sculpture I create is part of that ongoing transformation—shaped by fire, grounded in grit, and always reaching for something more.
I sculpt with fire, shaping metal and glass into forms inspired by nature and dreams. Wildflowers, wings, and whispers of the forest find their way into my work—pieces that feel both real and imagined. Each sculpture is a glimpse into a world where beauty and transformation are always unfolding.
I love working with steel—but fire, color, and texture have pulled me deeper. My recent work blends stainless steel, copper, and fused glass, often shaped with custom clay molds I design myself. I enjoy experimenting with materials that carry history—treasures found in antique shops, scrap yards, or the unexpected. Each piece is an exploration, a merging of raw elements and imagination.
